Title: Sixty Five Hours
Author: N.R. Walker
Why you should read this book: Because they are both wonderful characters and the story is nice!

Summary from Goodreads:

Cameron Fletcher and Lucas Hensley are advertising executives who have Sixty Five Hours to pull together the campaign of their careers.

Sixty Five Hours to get along. Sixty Five Hours to not kill each other. Sixty Five Hours to fall in love.

I’m going to write a short review since this was a short read, I promised myself that yesterday. I had to make that promise to myself or else I’d be writing the whole book, quoting everything because I loved it. It was the perfect Saturday night at home read: romance, cute socks, fetishes, and hotness. Lately I’ve been reading a lot of that and it seems I can’t get enough. I should take a break, right? Or maybe not.

And he’d just smile that smug fucking smile -that gorgeous, heart-stopping smile -and left them all aflutter in his wake.

Lucas and Cameron work in advertising and they don’t get along. For some unknown reason Cameron seems to hate Lucas: he glares at him and ignores him at work. The boss decided to put them together to create a marketing strategy and they will only have 65 hours to complete it. Put these two together, one very open about his sexual orientation and the other deep down in the closet, and you will have a very interesting weekend of work, confessions and something more.

He cleared his throat, and I realized I’d been caught checking him out. I gave him a casual shrug, acknowledging my wandering eye, but certainly didn’t apologize for it.

As the hours are passing and the project takes shape, the two of them start having feelings for each other. It’s clear as water, bright as the sun, those two are a perfect match and the attraction is pretty obvious. There are two problems with this: first, Lucas doesn’t do feelings and second, Cameron is in the closet, seemingly not ready to come out of it anytime soon.

I was all love hearts and flowers, and ‘I love you’s’ and cuddling. First, Cameron broke my gay-dar, then he turned me into an emotional sap.

Lucas is funny and very interesting with his foot fetish and everything but he has this one big flaw that bothers me. Every single time he has emotional thoughts and his feelings get overwhelming, he says he is turning into a girl. Like having feelings and being a girl are two of the most horrendous flaws in the whole universe. Lucas, having feelings doesn’t make you weak; being a girl isn’t something to be ashamed of (being a girl is great!). He said the girl thing a little too much and I wanted to punch him because feeling love isn’t supposed to be bad and for someone so open with whom he is, he surely lost some points in my book.

That being said, virtual punches being thrown, I can point out my favorite thing about this book: (mis)matching socks! Cameron has a thing for socks and he likes to pair them to form gay ships on his feet. A couple examples: Charlie Brown and Linus, and the obvious ship of Batman and Robin. I want ship socks, too!!

“Bert and Ernie? Really? For the love of God and Armani, I need to buy you some socks.”

I loved this book, it was funny and the characters were adorable, flaws and everything. I didn’t think I’d like a book with a cover I really didn’t like. I’m not ashamed to say that I do judge a book by its cover but I’m trying not to do that anymore. It’s hard but I don’t want to miss on cute books like this one for that reason.

Do I recommend it? Yes, it is really cute and funny and you will read it in no time.
